Disney Cruise Line’s next cruise ship, Disney Treasure, has been floated out at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.

The float out is a major step in any ship’s construction, as it shows that the external structure is completely ready to float and the ship can now just move onto the interior fittings and furnishings, along with a few other external features that aren’t linked to the ship being able to float.
Disney Treasure was floated out aft-first at the shipyard with Captain Minnie Mouse standing by to greet her.
The celebratory event included several Disney songs played, and fireworks from the construction hall as the ship moved into the harbour.
The float-out process took around an hour, as every care is taken to make sure there are no bumps on the way. Once the ship was in position in the harbour, she played ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ on her horn, a tradition for the cruise line.
Once the next steps are complete, the ship will be sailed down the River Ems to begin her sea trials, though there’s several weeks of work to do before then.
Once she is verified as seaworthy, the cruise line will take full ownership and Disney Treasure will cross the Atlantic Ocean to reach Port Canaveral.
Her maiden voyage is set for 21st December 2024.
