Hi Jenny,
Do you ever hear of any good deals in the school summer holidays, 4adults 2 children 4 n 10
Thank you
Yes! Take a look at this article, here’s how I usually do it: https://www.cruisemummy.co.uk/how-to-find-really-cheap-school-holidays-cruises-with-po-cruises/
Hi Jenni,
Do you ever come across discounted fares for the Celebrity Edge class ships?
Kind regards
Mark
I’m a solo senior an want a cruise which won’t cost me the earth for being single
Hi I travel as a solo, so I am always on the lookout for good deals, I know you have to pay a supplement but I don’t like paying more than double, do you come across any deals for solos?
Yes! I totally agree. I’m always looking for solo deals. They’re harder to find but I try. to inlcude at least one every week. Jenni
Hi Jenny
Thank you for your posts โฆ I always look forward to them arriving in my mail box.
I see that you have just come off a Cunard cruise and we have one booked to the Caribbean in November. Iโve read on the web that jackets are required for men every evening but also that a shirt and trousers is acceptable. Please tell me the truth of it โฆ we donโt want to eat in the buffet every evening because we have the wrong attire. Please help. Angie
Hi Angela. Lovely to hear that you’re enjoying my emails. Jackets aren’t required for smart evenings, only for formal evenings. A collared short and trousers will be perfect. I hope that helps. Jenni
Hi Jenny
I love your posts and useful information always.
We are wondering the best cruise line for us 68 year olds!
We would like to go on a Mediterranean cruise for 10 to 14 days in either May June or September 2026,we did like P and O but can only find Arvia which seems to be more for families, and lots of queuing.
We would like a low deposit and tips included and on board spending preferable.
Hope you can help us…bit of a minefield!
Thank you!
Hi Kathy. Take a look at this article about the best cruise lines for over 50s. I hope you find it helpful in narrowing down your search! https://www.cruisemummy.co.uk/best-cruises-over-50s/ Jenni
Jenni have you noticed that the staff on PnO ships especially in the buffets, all seem to wear the same massive shoes! Like theyโre wearing a size 12 no matter what size they are, itโs terrible if youโre on your feet all day. We asked a lady whose shoes were obviously far too big why and she just looked awkward and said she was fine. Itโs not fine! PnO need to look after their staff.
On their feet all day long so need room to swell up . Like mine do.
Hi just a quick question do you get a better deal on royal Caribbean if you book a cruise while you are on a cruise?
Hi Toni. Usually if you book on board you will get some perks like a small discount or some free onboard credit. This can be good, but the discounts won’t be huge. I’d always advise comparing prices as you may still be able to get a better deal through a travel agent, particularly if you can be flexible. Jenni
Hi Jenni,
Quick question. Iโm in the USA. Do I have to book from here in America or can I book from you if the price is right?
Love your website!
Best wishes,
Reneeโ
Hi Renee. Thanks for the question! I don’t handle bookings myself, but the deals on this page should all be available for anyone to book, no matter where you live, Jenni
Hello Jenni,
we live in France are we also able to book the offers?
Thank you
Hi Rolf. Yes, most of them you should have no problem with booking. Jenni
Hi Jenni
Thanks for Cruise Mummy – such a good source of information.
You’ve probably answered this a million times, but when is the best time to get a last minute bargain please?
Hi Malcolm. 10-12 weeks before sailing can be a god time for discounts as that’s when the final balance is due and people drop out so the criuse line knows how many cabins they have left. Certain times of the year are also good for sales. I have more details on that here for you: https://www.cruisemummy.co.uk/best-time-year-cruise-discounts/ I hope that helps. Jenni
Hi Jenni,
We were on Marella Voyager in September, and usually ask for a sharing table, but this time The staff stated there were none and gave use a bleeper with the comment to come back after 30-45 minutes if we hadn’t been called. This happened nearly every time. There were lots of other people willing to share but they insisted there were no tables available, even though there were table available throughout the meal!!!! Never ever had this before. Sometimes we have had to wait a bit but usually got a large table after a short wait. We have been cruising for 40 years and never had any problems.
As for the buffet, as Jenni states its your choice and just choose a quieter time.
Neil
Hi Jenni, any chance you could do an article about the best cruisline for 2 person table dining, both formal and Buffet?
I have a low immune condition that makes me a bit careful and anti-social.๐
Thanks
Hi Stephen. Thanks for the idea. I’m curious, has there ever been a situation where you’ve been declined a table for two in the main dining room? I wouldn’t have thought that would be a problem on any ship, especially if you let them know why you need that. And as for the buffet, I think that would be down to the time of day you visit, rather than the ship, as every ship has quiet and busy times. Jenni
