Getting room service is such a special treat. While many cruise lines charge a lot for room service, you’ll be pleased to know that the room service on P&O Cruises is incredibly cheap. And sometimes it’s even free!
So whether you want to enjoy breakfast in bed, lunch on your balcony or even a midnight snack delivered to your cabin, you can do so.
In this guide, I’ll show you what you can order on room service on a P&O Cruise as well as how to order and what else you need to know.

The first thing to know about P&O Cruises room service menus is that they’re the same on every ship. So no matter whether you’re cruising on one of the newer ships, Arvia and Iona, one of the small adult-only ships, Aurora and Arcadia or one of the classic ships, Britannia, Ventura and Azura, you can enjoy the same room service menu.
Room Service Breakfast
Room service breakfast is free of charge on P&O Cruises. It’s a continental breakfast only, but you can order a selection of pastries, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, juices or smoothies to be delivered between 7 am and 11 am.
To order room service breakfast, you’ll need to hang a card outside your cabin door before 10 pm on the night before. You can choose your delivery time from the 30-minute windows.
The P&O breakfast menu is smaller than it used to be, and you can no longer get hot breakfast items like toast or a sausage and bacon panini. These were never warm by the time they reached the cabin anyway, so I’m okay with that.
The other change is that room service delivery is now free. For a time, it was £2.50, so it’s nice to see that P&O Cruises has removed the delivery charge.

Daytime Bites
Between 11 am and 11 pm you’ll have the largest choice when it comes to room service on your P&O cruise. Again, the delivery charge has been removed, making your room service even better value!
If you order room service on one of the American cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean, you’ll be expected to tip the person who delivers the room service with cash. This is the case in the US. However, as P&O Cruises is a British cruise line, tipping is not expected. Of course, you can tip if you wish, but most people don’t.
Your room service delivery will come in plastic cloches to keep it warm.

Night-Time Menu
P&O Cruises’ room service is available around the clock, although after 11 pm the menu is a little simpler. Still, there are hot and cold dishes to choose from as well as a selection of desserts.

Room Service Drinks Menu
Cruisers often rave about the P&O Cruises room service drinks menu. While you can order single bottles of beer and cider or cans of soft drink, the real highlight of the menu is that you can order one-litre bottles for spirits for as little as £23!
P&O Cruises does let you bring on one litre of alcohol per person when you board. However, on a two-week cruise that may not last you. Or if you’re flying, you may not want to risk putting that in your case.
So, by buying a litre of booze to drink in your room, you can save yourself a lot on the bar prices.
The mixers can be a little pricey, although you’ll save over 25% if you buy 10, they’re still £2.25 for each small can. Instead, I suggest that you hop off at the next port and grab a large bottle of mixer. P&O Cruises lets you bring unlimited soft drinks on board so you’ll have no problem doing that.

How To Order Room Service On P&O Cruises
Ordering room service on a P&O Cruise is easy…
If you want breakfast, simply fill in the card and hang it on your door before you go to bed. In the morning, a crew member will knock on your door with your delivery.
At other times, you can call room service using the phone in your room. It has a button marked ‘Room Service’. Just let them know what you want and they will bring it to you.
If you have any special dietary requirements, just let room service know when you order. They are able to make small adjustments, such as leaving off the cheese if you’re vegan.
Room service doesn’t usually take long to arrive, but you may have to wait up to an hour at busy times. You don’t have to tip your room steward. If you wanted to give them some cash you certainly can, but as P&O Cruises is a British cruise line, most people don’t.

Hi, I have just been informed by P&O Cruises that the £2.50 delivery charge is still in affect on Iona and probably Arvia as I seen a recent menu from Arvia in the Caribbean having the £2.50 charge still on the menu! Just thought I’d best let you know as it seems this removal has not extended to all the ships in the P&O fleet!
