Celestyal Cruises has announced the arrival of its newest ship, the Celestyal Journey, set to embark on its maiden voyage on September 2, 2023.
Originally sailing for Holland America Line as Ryndam from 1993 and as Pacific Aria for P&O Cruises Australia since 2015, the ship has undergone an extensive €20 million refurbishment and technical maintenance overhaul.

Accommodation
Celestyal Journey is a mid-sized cruise ship accommodating 1,260 guests. She has 630 staterooms, 149 of which feature balconies, including 120 Junior Suites, 28 Grand Suites, and one Stargazer Penthouse Suite.
In total, there are over 280% more balcony suites on the ship than any other in the fleet, with more Dream Suites than ever before.
And the Stargazer is the first penthouse suite for the cruise line and offering a completely new level of luxury.
Food and Drink
The Celestyal Journey offers guests a large range of dining options. There are seven one-of-a-kind venues, including speciality and themed restaurants offering a wide array of tastes and cuisines, from Mediterranean to European and Asian dishes.
This includes Thalassa, where guests can enjoy dining under the moonlight, Grill Seekers, and Fig & Honey – perfect for daytime Greek cuisine.
The Smoked Olive restaurant is the ship’s Mediterranean venue, while Pink Moon offers Asian-inspired menus.
The ship also features an exclusive Chef’s Table venue, ideal for celebrating special occasions with friends or for private group functions.
Eight bars and lounges round out the food and beverage offerings, each with its own distinctive character, providing the ideal setting to indulge in Celestyal’s signature cocktails.
Debuting on the ship is the Fizz Club, offering cosmic cocktails and Champagne with fantastic views for stargazing. The Grapevine Wine Cellar offers an impressive range of vintages, and the Blue Bar & Lounge features chilled piano music.
Facilities
The Sozo Experience is one of the key features of the ship. This is an entire deck inspired by the Greek custom of ‘Sozo’ – an ancient tradition related to health and wellbeing.
Guests can enjoy a fantastic fitness area with a dedicated instructor, or take the exercise outdoors to the tennis and basketball courts or the jogging track. There’s a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, as well as a Dream Den relaxation area as part of the Sozo Spa, while the Glow Bar offers a range of pampering treatments.
The Celestyal Journey two fully-equipped conference rooms, as well as a multi-purpose amphitheatre complete with a cinema, making it perfect for meetings and incentives.
Outside, expect expansive sundecks with two pools and two Jacuzzis, offering spectacular views and connectivity with the sea.
In the evening, guests can take in a live show at the Amphitheatro, which spans two decks, or enjoy live music throughout the ship.
And there’s plenty for the younger guests in your party to enjoy too, including a Kids’ Club and arcade games.
Suite Amenities
A secluded and tranquil outdoor space, the Beach Club, will be created for exclusive use by all Grand Suite and Junior Suite guests.
Guests booked in Grand Suites will also have access to Celestyal’s Concierge Service, which features a dedicated priority check-in counter, expedited embarkation, and express luggage delivery service, including assistance with unpacking. A dedicated Celestyal Concierge will be available in the exclusive-use Poseidon Lounge to assist Grand Suite guests with tailored service requests.

Celestyal Journey Itineraries
The Celestyal Journey will set sail on its inaugural voyage on September 2, 2023, with the popular seven-night “Idyllic Aegean” itinerary.
Following this, the ship will continue in October with the unique “Steps of Paul” itinerary, followed by the award-winning seven-night “Three Continents” itinerary visiting Greece, Egypt, Israel, Cyprus, and Turkey.
This will be followed by two exclusive holiday sailings, the 11-night special Christmas voyage calling on Thessaloniki, Izmir, Crete, Antalya, Limassol, with two days in Alexandria and an overnight visit in Haifa (Israel) to spend both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in the Holy Land.
This can be combined with the New Year’s eight-night departure visiting Heraklion, Rhodes, Kusadasi, and overnighting in Istanbul before calling Volos.
