Princess Cruises has announced an overhaul of its pricing structure for guests in the United States, meaning that they should now always get the best deals by booking as early as possible.

Typically with cruise lines, some of the best prices are announced early, but you can also get a great deal last minute as cruise lines sell out the last few places onboard.
The new changes for Princess mean that last-minute discounts will no longer happen, and the best time for Americans to book a cruise will be as soon as the itineraries are released.
The cruise line is attributing this to increased demand, which means more and more cruises are already selling out – so there’s no need to drop prices at the last minute.
A Princess cruise vacation is the best value in travel, but with continuing increases in consumer demand, our new pricing approach will always reward guests who lock in their Princess vacations well in advance. Gone are the days of last-minute deep discounts close to departure dates. The best time to secure a spot on a 2024 or 2025 Princess cruise is right now.
Terry Thorton, chief commercial officer of Princess Cruises
An important new part of this pricing revamp in the US is the introduction of a Best Price Guarantee.
This new offer means that, if guests book a cruise with Princess and then find the same cruise at a lower price within 72 hours of booking, they’ll be price-matched either through an upgrade to a higher category stateroom, with onboard credit at 110% of the price difference, or via other offers.
Princess has also promised improved offers for third and fourth guests sharing a stateroom, with even lower prices – potentially great news for families.
And the cruise line has also hinted at another offer that will let guests book a low rate for a future cruise without specifying a date or itinerary – though this has yet to be fully explained.
These changes do not apply to guests who reside in the UK.
