Princess Cruises has revealed several exciting updates for its new Sphere-class ship, Star Princess, set to debut in autumn 2025.

Built at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard in Italy, the 4,300-passenger vessel recently completed its float-out, marking the end of exterior construction and the start of interior work.
While Star Princess will share many features with her sister ship, Sun Princess, which launched in early 2024, she will also introduce new enhancements designed to elevate the guest experience.
The ship will offer expanded seating in key dining venues, including O’Malley’s Irish Pub and the romantic restaurant Love by Britto, which will have 20 more seats than her sister ship.
New recreational options will include sports courts for pickleball and basketball, and a jogging track on the SkyDeck Sports Court & Track, which will also feature a splash pad and shaded seating.
Additionally, Star Princess will offer an expanded smoke-free section in its casino, housing 68 slot machines.
“After the overwhelming response to Sun Princess, we are excited to debut her sister ship, Star Princess, with added enhancements to elevate the guest experience,
“From expanded non-smoking casino areas to new spaces for relaxation and recreation, Star Princess will deliver an unforgettable vacation for all when she launches in fall 2025.”
John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises
Star Princess will also feature the Sanctuary Collection, a luxury ship-within-a-ship experience, offering private dining, exclusive perks, and access to the Sanctuary Club on the upper decks.
Guests booking these suites will enjoy WiFi, crew appreciation tips, unlimited premium spirits, and reserved seating at the ship’s theatre. This new area debuted on Sun Princess.
The ship’s maiden voyage will depart from Barcelona on 4th October 2025, offering an 11-day Mediterranean cruise with stops in France, Italy, Sicily, Spain, and Gibraltar. Originally scheduled for a July 2025 launch, delivery delays at the shipyard resulted in the cancellation of the first nine sailings.
Following her inaugural journey, Star Princess will sail to Fort Lauderdale for the winter season, offering Caribbean voyages before moving to Alaska in summer 2026 for 7-day Inside Passage cruises from Seattle.
