Is this the most luxurious cruise ship on the planet?
With a £200,000 mattress, a Fabergé egg at sea, and a private dining room hidden between restaurants, Seven Seas Grandeur just might be, Seven Seas Grandeur just might be.

I was invited to spend the day onboard Seven Seas Grandeur, so here’s a look inside Regent’s most opulent ship yet…
First Impressions: Is Grandeur Really That Grand?
Seven Seas Grandeur launched in 2023 as the latest addition to Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ ultra-luxury fleet. Inspired by the past and reimagined for the future, it follows the blueprint of sister ships Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor – but elevates everything to the next level.

Designed by Studio DADO and built by Fincantieri in Italy, Seven Seas Grandeur carries just 746 guests with 548 crew, offering one of the highest crew-to-guest ratios at sea.
All 373 suites come with a private balcony, and there are no inside cabins. From bow to stern, the ship exudes refined elegance, with 308,647 lbs of marble, 503 chandeliers, and over 1,600 curated art pieces on board.

The Regent Suite: £8,500 a Night (and Worth Every Penny)
At 4,443 square feet (that’s around five times the size of the average UK home), the Regent Suite is the most luxurious accommodation at sea.
Located at the front of the ship, it features 270-degree views through its 1,227-square-foot wraparound veranda, which includes a personal hot tub and a glass conservatory.

The suite includes:
- Two bedrooms and 2.5 marble bathrooms
- A £200,000 Hästens Vividus mattress in the master bedroom
- Three walk-in wardrobes
- A personal sauna, steam room and treatment room
- Unlimited in-suite spa treatments
- Personal butler service
- In-suite caviar service
- Personalised stationery
- Gym equipment
- A private car, driver and guide in every port
- Exclusive use of a private dining room
Up to six guests can stay in the Regent Suite, enjoying every possible luxury, including daily canapés, unlimited laundry and a selection of room fragrances.

5. Art at Sea: Fabergé, Picassos and a 40-Foot-Tall Tapestry
Seven Seas Grandeur is home to a $6 million art collection featuring 1,600 pieces curated over two years.
Highlights include:
- “Journey in Jewels”: The first Fabergé egg permanently at sea, made with gemstones, mother-of-pearl, and rotating inner egg
- Picassos: Three original works inside Prime 7
- “The Enchanted Tree”: A 40-foot hand-woven tapestry by Walter Goldfarb
- Digital Art Tour: Guests can scan select works with the Regent app for videos from the artists

Every public space is a gallery in its own right, from elevator lobbies to restaurants. These pieces add to the beauty and magic of the ship, offering something new to admire around every turn.

Guests staying in the Regent Suite also enjoy the Tahitian Hydration Ritual, using monoi oil and custom spa facilities within their suite.
7. Entertainment on Another Level
Four brand-new productions debut exclusively on Seven Seas Grandeur:
- Pasión: Tango-inspired, choreographed by Francisco Forquera
- Ignite the Night: High-energy show blending dance, style and pop hits
- Marauder’s Ball: A modern pirate musical with swashbuckling flair
- ICONS: A VIP concert-style experience with tributes to music legends

Costumes are designed by Broadway professionals, and the shows feature Grammy-winning musicians and choreographers from Dancing with the Stars.
Expect big production value, immersive storytelling, and stage design that rivals what you’d find on land. From sultry tangos to pirate battles and iconic pop ballads, these shows push cruise ship entertainment to bold new heights.
8. Sustainability Without Compromise
Despite being one of the most luxurious cruise ships ever built, Seven Seas Grandeur is also one of the most forward-thinking when it comes to sustainability. Regent has integrated a wide range of environmentally conscious technologies to reduce the ship’s ecological footprint without compromising guest comfort.
The ship features advanced wastewater treatment systems that clean all water before it’s released, as well as onboard food digesters that convert food waste into liquid to reduce environmental impact.

Energy efficiency is prioritised through LED lighting, upgraded HVAC systems and a waste heat recovery system that recycles energy to warm water and other systems. Cold ironing technology allows the ship to plug into shore power while docked, reducing emissions in port.
Ballast water treatment prevents cross-contamination between ecosystems, while a trim optimisation system ensures the ship maintains its most efficient sailing position.
Guests can also choose from over 150 Eco-Connect shore excursions, designed to educate and inspire by showcasing sustainable practices and conservation projects around the world.
This commitment to sustainability is important because it demonstrates that ultra-luxury travel doesn’t have to come at the cost of the planet. With climate change a growing concern, Regent’s investment in clean technologies and responsible tourism sets a standard for the cruise industry – proving that indulgence and environmental care can go hand in hand.
