Carnival Cruise Line’s new private resort Celebration Key is due to open in 2025 and this week the cruise line unveiled a lot more details about the destination.
The big news is that the resort will be split into five ‘portals’ – essentially different zones themed around different aspects of the island experience, so that guests can enjoy the perfect spot to unwind.
The first is the Welcome Portal, situated at the entrance to the resort next to the dock. Here guests will enjoy live music to set the tone for their day, while a giant sandcastle will serve as the fun focal point.
There is then a Family-Friendly Portal, which is a zone that features a freshwater lagoon for swimming and various water sports activities, racing waterslides, some restaurants and some sports courts. There will be a beach area, or guests can reserve private cabanas or villas which even have their own waterslides.
There’s also the Adult-Friendly Portal which promises to be just as lively. Here, guests can enjoy the beach and lagoon along with a swim-up bar and a DJ who will keep the party atmosphere going throughout the day.
For anyone looking for something quieter, the Private Club Portal is another adults-only space with an infinity pool and more premium dining options.
Finally, the Retail Portal is where guests will be able to visit duty-free stores to pick up souvenirs and local artisanal goods.
Carnival also revealed that the resort will feature an events pavilion, which can be booked by guests for weddings and other celebrations and may be used by the cruise line for other events, too.
We also know that there is significant space available for future developments, with tentative ideas including a larger water park, a zipline course and more. For now those are on the backburner.
No costs have been unveiled for cabana or villa rentals and it’s unclear whether the Private Club Portal will carry an additional charge, but with the resort due to open to guests in summer 2025 it won’t be long until we know more.
