Guests embarking on a cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas were greeted by a major plumbing issue with no running water onboard.

According to a guest who posted on Reddit, this meant that no sinks were available for hand-washing, and none of the toilets were able to flush.
The ship is in Piraeus, the port near Athens, with guests arriving for a 7-day trip around the Greek Isles.
The guest said that they first tried the buffet and found that the drinks machines were dispensing pure syrup, and because no notices had been posted anywhere, they assumed it was just a drinks issue.
But then, on visiting the bathrooms, they found that the toilets weren’t flushing and the taps in the sink weren’t working, with no hand sanitiser available in the bathrooms either.
The guest spoke to the Guest Services team who confirmed it was a ship-wide issue, and that repairs would take at least another hour, having already been without water for two hours.
The plumbing was repaired after around three hours, though no announcement was made – guests apparently found out purely through word of mouth.
