If you’re planning a cruise that departs from Barcelona, you might want to enjoy the city centre for a few hours before embarkation – without the hassle of carrying your luggage around.

Barcelona

The same applies if your cruise docks in Barcelona and you have a few hours before boarding another ship, heading to the airport (El Prat) or to the main train station (Sants).

Finding a good place to store your luggage for the day or just for a few hours, however, is not always that simple. The Barcelona cruise port terminals have no luggage storage facilities or lockers.

Fortunately, my friend Sira, who lives in Barcelona, has done some research and put together a list of some luggage storage facilities close to the port area.

Important note: The Port of Barcelona is the largest cruise ship port in Europe. This means it’s huge!

How to Get From Barcelona Cruise Port to City Centre

While the ferry terminals are near La Rambla and the Gothic Quarter, the cruise terminals (A, B, C, D, E) are not that close.

It takes between 30 and 50 minutes to walk from Barcelona Cruise Port to Las Ramblas and vice versa. So, if you want to travel quickly between the cruise port and Las Ramblas or the city centre, you have the following options:

1. Hail a taxi

This will cost between €6 and €10. You can also book a taxi on the Free Now app for between €8 and €11. Or, you can order an Uber.

2. Take the Cruise Bus

The Cruise Bus costs €3 per person, one way or €4.50 for a day ticket.

Keep in mind that if you are going to the city centre from the cruise terminals, this shuttle drops you at the World Trade Center, which is next to the ferry terminals, and just a 5-minute walk to and from Las Ramblas.

The cruise buses don’t have a fixed schedule; their service depends on the cruise’s arrivals and departures.

Best Places to Store Luggage Near Barcelona Cruise Port

Here’s a list of places where you can leave your bags close to the Barcelona cruise port.

🏆 Most Convenient

Fun on 2 Wheels

Fun on 2 Wheels is one of the best places to leave your luggage in Barcelona, because among all the facilities we have found in the area, it’s the closest one to the port and it’s open 7 days a week.

Also, the staff is friendly and they speak English, and you can pay both in cash and online with Bounce.

Among all the places we have included in this article, this facility is probably the most convenient. From here you can explore the Gothic Quarter, the Born, the Port Vell, and La Barceloneta.

You can also walk to La Rambla de Mar and go shopping at the Maremagnum mall.

2. Scooter House

Scooter House

In case the first facility we mentioned, Fun on 2 Wheels, is full, there’s another great place just a few meters away on the same street where you can store your luggage: Scooter House.

The staff are super friendly and they speak English and Spanish. As with Fun on 2 Wheels, you can either pay in cash or through Bounce.

3. Patapas

Patapas

Patapas is a great place to store your luggage while you explore the Gothic Quarter. It’s also a perfect bar to relax and enjoy some delicious, typical Spanish and Catalan tapas in the heart of the historic city centre.

It’s very close to the Ramblas (less than 5 minutes walking from the metro station Liceu), to the 14th-century Gothic Basilica Santa Maria del Pi, the Boqueria Market, and the Cathedral of Barcelona.

The staff is super friendly and they speak English, Spanish and Catalan.

Address: Plaça de Sant Josep Oriol, 2, 08002 Barcelona

Opening times: 7 days a week, from 11:30 am to 10 pm

Rates:

  • €5/day/bag if you pay in cash;
  • €6.85 if you book the service on Stasher (it includes 24/7 customer support and insurance).

4. Hotel Moderno

Hotel Moderno

What I love about this place is that it’s available 24/7.

Also, since this is a hotel in the heart of the city centre, the staff speaks different languages (the woman I talked to spoke English, Spanish and Italian).

Another thing that makes this hotel a great place to store your luggage is its privileged location: it’s very close to the Ramblas (100 m), the Boqueria Market, Plaça Catalunya and the Raval neighbourhood.

Address: Carrer de l’Hospital 11, 08001 Barcelona

Phone: +34 933014224

Opening times: 24/7

Rates:

  • €5/day/bag if you pay in cash;
  • €6.40 if you book the service on Bounce (it costs a bit more but it includes the insurance).

5. K.S. Gift Shop and Sport

K.S. Gift Shop and Sport

This facility is a souvenir shop in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. From here you can easily walk to the Ramblas, Plaça Catalunya, and even to the Born neighbourhood.

This store is also a great option if you don’t have much time and you simply want to enjoy the Gothic Quarter.

And it’s just 7 minutes away from one of the most Instagrammable spots in Barcelona, the Kiss of freedom, also known as the Kiss Mural.

Address: Carrer de Ferran 19, 08002 Barcelona

Opening times: Mon – Sun; 10am – 10pm

Rates:

  • €6/day/bag if you pay in cash;
  • €6.40 if you book the service on Bounce (it costs a bit more but it includes the insurance).

6. St. Christopher’s Inns Hostel

St. Christopher’s Inns Hostel

This hostel is perfect if you want to explore Plaça Catalunya, Universitat and/or Passeig de Gracia.

Also, this location is great if after spending a few hours in Barcelona you have to head to El Prat airport. The hostel is very close to Plaça Catalunya where you can catch the Airbus and to Passeig de Gracia where you can take the train to the airport.

They only accept payments through Bounce. The staff speaks both English and Spanish.

Address: Carrer de Bergara 3, 08002

Opening times: 24/7

Rates: €6.40/bag/hour

7. STR Moto Rent

STR Moto Rent

This facility is pretty close to the port area and it’s a great choice if you want to visit the Maritime Museum or explore the Raval area – or both.

It’s also a perfect location if you want to go to carrer de Blai, where locals and expats gather in the afternoon to enjoy a drink and some tapas.

The staff speaks English and Spanish and you can pay both in cash and through Stasher.

I recommend booking the service in advance.

Address: Av. del Paral·lel, 42, 08001, Barcelona

Opening times: Mon – Fri; 9am – 7pm

Rates:

  • €5 per bag per day if you pay cash
  • €6.85 if you book the service on Stasher (it includes 24/7 customer support and insurance).

8. Singh Alimentació Supermercat

Singh Alimentació Supermercat

This luggage storage facility is perfect if you want to enjoy the Poble Sec neighborhood. And, as with the previous facility STR Moto Rent, it’s great if you want to relax and enjoy a beer and tapas experience in Carrer de Blai.

This store is also a strategic choice if you want to explore the Montjuic hill – in my opinion, one of the most beautiful areas in Barcelona.

It’s located only 3 minutes away from the Parallel metro station where you can take the Montjuic Funicular Railway – which takes you to the Montjuic hill in just a few minutes.

Address: C/ Nou de la Rambla, 126, 08004 Barcelona

Opening hours: Mon-Sun; 9am – 11pm

Rates:

  • €5/day/bag if you pay in cash;
  • €6.40 if you book the service on Bounce (it costs a bit more but it includes the insurance).

9. Bags&Go

Bags&Go

Bags&Go is a popular collection and delivery luggage service in Barcelona and it’s worth mentioning it in this list. However, it’s not a storage facility and you won’t find a drop-off point at the cruise terminals.

What they do is collect your bags from your cabin or the pick-up point you choose, store them, and deliver them at the time and place of your choice (for example, at the airport or at one of the main train stations).

It’s a bit more expensive than leaving your bag at a storage facility, but it’s a convenient option and it has great reviews.

Keep in mind that you have to book this service at least 24 hours in advance on their website.

Rates:

  • From €11 per bag/day – minimum 2 bags

Conclusion

We have looked into some of the best and most convenient luggage storage spots near the Barcelona Cruise Port.

All the facilities mentioned in this article are great and trustworthy – we’ve entered each of these places, talked to the staff and asked for information. Also, most of them have great reviews online.

However, what we recommend is to always book and pay online through either Stasher or Bounce.

The most important benefit of booking through these platforms is that the service always comes with insurance, and in the unlikely event of theft or damage, your things are covered up to:

– €10,000 with Bounce and

– £1000 (or equivalent in other currencies) with Stasher.

Also, both Bounce and Stasher include free cancellation and 24/7 customer service.
