Living The Suite Life – Why Choose A TUI River Cruise Suite

This is a sponsored post for TUI River Cruises.

TUI has five river cruise ships offering some fantastic options for a value river cruise. And on each of those ships, you’ll have a choice between some beautifully appointed cabins with fantastic views of the passing scenery.

TUI River Cruise Suites

However, each ship also has suite options, if you want to treat yourself to something a little extra special for your voyage. These suites offer a small range of additional perks, along with prime locations on your ship.

In this guide, we’ll take a look at the different suite options you can book on a TUI river cruise, and what each of the benefits are that they offer.

TUI River Cruise Suite Options

There are two different suites available on a TUI river cruise, depending on your ship.

French Balcony Suite Cabin

TUI French Balcony Suite Cabin

Available on:

  • TUI Alma
  • TUI Maya
  • TUI Al Horeya
  • TUI Skyla
  • TUI Isla

The standard suite option across the fleet, these are beautifully spacious rooms that are situated in prime locations on the ship – a river cruise ship may not be huge anyway, but it’s handy to be close to the restaurant or bar space when you want to unwind.

Depending on your ship, these measure between 255 and 270 square feet – as much as double that of a standard cabin onboard, and your French Balcony is on a lower deck which gives you a beautiful view of the river and the passing scenery.

Available on TUI Al Horeya Only

If you want to enjoy a Juliette balcony as you cruise along the Nile, this is a great suite option. It’s also the biggest suite in the TUI fleet, measuring around 300 square feet, so you’ve plenty of space to unwind and relax.

TUI River Cruise Suite Perks

Not every perk applies to all suites, but this is the full list of benefits you can enjoy when you decide to upgrade to a suite on a TUI river cruise:

1. Bigger Beds

Prefer more space to sprawl out when you’re snoozing? The French Balcony Cabin Suites have king size beds instead of a regular double, though these can be converted into two full-size single beds if you prefer.

The only exception is on TUI Al Horeya – both the French Balcony Cabin Suites and Balcony Cabin Suites have regular double beds.

2. Continental Breakfast In Room

While you don’t have far to walk to enjoy your breakfast each morning, you can instead prefer to enjoy a continental breakfast delivered to your suite if you prefer. This is the ideal way to enjoy a lazy start to the day, while watching the unfolding scenery of your new destination, or the passing views if you’re still en route.

On most ships, you can enjoy a continental breakfast delivered every day. On TUI Al Horeya, this perk is available twice per week.

3. Luxury Toiletries (To Keep!)

The French Balcony Suite Cabins on TUI Alma, TUI Maya, TUI Skyla and TUI Isla come with upgraded Molton Brown toiletries. While these are also provided in some Superior Cabins, there is still an additional perk to choosing a suite – you get to keep the toiletries and take them home with you at the end of your cruise!

4. Extra Amenities

All suites across all five ships in the TUI fleet come with small additional amenities just to make your stay that little bit more comfortable, including a bathrobe and slippers to use during the cruise. Some ships also have upgraded Smart TVs with USB ports too.

5. Nightly Turn-Down

Available across the ships sailing in Europe, French Balcony Suites come with a nightly turn-down service, which isn’t offered in the regular cabins, so your suite is always perfectly presented for you before bed each evening.

6. Improved Bathroom Privacy

One of the quirks of some of the regular cabins on the TUI river cruise fleet is the bathroom design. They have sliding doors with frosted glass, as there’s no space for the roomy bathroom to have a door that opens out into the room.

The glass is frosted, so you do still enjoy privacy, but by choosing a suite cabin you instead get more space including the room for a bathroom with full door, so if you’re cruising with friends you don’t have to worry as much about privacy.

7. Free Massages

Available for suite guests on TUI Al Horeya only, all guests can enjoy a 30 minute massage for free as a perk of booking either a French Balcony Suite Cabin or a Balcony Suite Cabin.

Final Word

Upgrading to a suite on a TUI river cruise is a great way to spoil yourself (or your partner or friend), with extra space to unwind and a host of additional touches that just make the whole experience even more special.

These are the best accommodation options on the fleet of ships, which means they can sell out fast – if you like the idea of trying out the suite life on a river ship, then make sure you book your cruise as soon as you can!
