Carnival is famous for family-friendly cruises – so an adults-only sailing might come as a bit of a surprise.

But that’s exactly what its SEA Cruises offer. Short for Sailings Exclusively for Adults, these special 21+ cruises are heavily focused on casino players, with more opportunities to gamble and some extra experiences along the way.

They’re not quite Carnival’s answer to Virgin Voyages, though. There are only selected sailings, and there’s an important catch when it comes to who can book.

So, what actually happens on an adults-only Carnival casino cruise – and how do you get an invite?

What Are Carnival SEA Cruises?

Carnival’s SEA Cruises – Sailings Exclusively for Adults – are special 21+ sailings with a strong focus on casino gaming.

The idea actually started somewhat unexpectedly. The original SEA sailings were introduced after planned dry docks for Carnival Magic and Carnival Conquest had to be rescheduled, leaving gaps in the ships’ schedules.

Rather than simply filling them with regular cruises, Carnival decided to try something different and created adults-only, casino-focused sailings.

Since then, the concept has continued beyond those original cruises, with more SEA sailings being added to Carnival’s schedule.

They’re aimed primarily at members of the Carnival Players Club, the cruise line’s casino loyalty programme, and are promoted through targeted offers to eligible players.

The casino is a big part of the experience, with more opportunities to play, extra casino events and themed activities. But you don’t have to spend the whole cruise at a slot machine – you’ll still get the usual Carnival bars, restaurants and entertainment, just without any children on board.

Carnival isn’t becoming an adults-only cruise line, though. Its regular cruises remain firmly family-friendly – SEA Cruises are simply something different for its adult casino audience.

Upcoming Carnival SEA Cruises

Carnival SEA Cruises are still relatively rare, with only selected sailings offered as adults-only, casino-focused cruises.

Upcoming SEA Cruises include:

• Carnival Firenze – selected adults-only sailings from Long Beach in October and November 2026
• Carnival Jubilee – an adults-only sailing from Galveston on 4th September 2027

Booking a Carnival SEA Cruise

Unlike a regular Carnival cruise, you can’t necessarily just pick a SEA Cruise and book it.

These sailings are primarily offered to eligible casino players through targeted offers, so they’re effectively invite-only and you’ll generally need an eligible offer from Carnival to book.

If you’re a member of the Carnival Players Club, it’s worth keeping an eye on your Carnival account and emails to see whether any SEA Cruise offers appear.
