Carnival has announced two new zones for the upcoming ship Carnival Jubilee, named Currents and The Shore. These zones will debut when the ship launches later in 2023.
Each of the zones is home to unique bars and venues to really bring ocean theming into the ship in a contemporary and fun way.
Currents
Currents will occupy Decks 6 and 7, and it’ll change from day to night, as well as throughout the cruise, so it’ll feel fresh every time you visit. That’s helped by the six large LED ‘windows’ and a massive LED ceiling that’s shaped like a wave. These LED screens will coordinate to create exciting environments that guests will love.

Currents will host the new bar Dr. Inks, Ph.D, a bar that offers ocean-themed beverages including cool colour-changing cocktails, jellyfish and shots. Sounds fun!
There’s also the Golden Mermaid, a classy lounge space inspired by gemstones and precious metals. It’ll have a stage where a live band will serenade you while you sip cocktails.
And finally, Currents will be where you’ll find Emeril’s Bistro 717, a restaurant serving Creole cuisine as designed by the cruise line’s Chief Culinary Officer, Emeril Lagasse.
The Shores
On Deck 8, The Shores will be an area inspired by the seaside, including beach and pier theming. It’ll have a huge three-deck-high art installation based on a school of fish, spanning down to Deck 6. There’ll be a boardwalk too, with a Ferris wheel-inspired ceiling.
Venues at The Shores include the Marina Bar, the Coastal Slice pizzeria and Beach Buns, a sandwich and hot dog-based restaurant.
Carnival Jubilee is scheduled to set sail in December 2023 and will sail year-round itineraries from Galveston in Texas. It’s one of 17 exciting ships to launch in 2023.
