A Florida woman has been arrested and charged with four counts of child neglect after allegedly leaving her young children home alone whilst she embarked on a three-night Carnival cruise. Nathalie Belizaire, 29, was taken into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Protection when Carnival Conquest returned to PortMiami on 28th September 2026.
The troubling situation came to light when the father of Belizaire’s two-month-old infant grew concerned about the welfare of the children. However, after spotting a social media post from Belizaire that appeared to show her aboard a cruise ship, the father decided to conduct a welfare check at her North Miami Beach apartment.
On Saturday evening, 26th September 2026, the concerned father arrived at Belizaire’s residence. Upon approaching the apartment, he could hear only the sound of a television and young voices from within, with no apparent adult presence supervising the children.
