Luxury expedition cruise line Seabourn is charting bold new waters with the announcement of its first-ever Grand Voyage expedition, a remarkable 94-day pole-to-pole sailing set to begin in August 2027.

Seabourn Venture

Named the “Pole to Pole: Grand Expedition,” this extraordinary itinerary aboard Seabourn Venture will carry guests from the Arctic to Antarctica, covering more than 20,500 nautical miles and exploring 14 countries and territories across both hemispheres.

“Our Pole to Pole: Grand Expedition is unlike anything we’ve ever offered and is a once-in-a-lifetime journey,

“From the High Arctic to Antarctica, guests will sail through some of the most remote and awe-inspiring places on Earth.”

Mark Tamis, President of Seabourn.

94 Days from Reykjavik to Ushuaia

Departing 17th August 2027, the journey begins with an overnight in Reykjavik, Iceland, followed by a charter flight to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, where guests will officially embark.

The itinerary concludes in Ushuaia, Argentina, on 19th November 2027, after visiting some of the planet’s most extreme and isolated destinations, including:

  • 6 days in the Northeast Passage
  • 5 days in Antarctica
  • 3 days in South Georgia
  • 3 days in the Falkland Islands
  • Stops in Ellesmere Island, Baffin Island, and Greenland’s fjords

Guests will also cross the Equator, as well as the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, with additional scenic cruising through the Caribbean and down the eastern coast of South America.

Itinerary Highlights: From Arctic Ice to Penguin Colonies

During the Arctic segment, passengers will explore remote Canadian islands, the Greenland ice shelf, and the historic Northwest Passage, retracing the routes of legendary explorers.

Seabourn Grand Expedition Itinerary

Destinations include Devon Island, Kekerten Island, L’Anse aux Meadows, and Nain, Canada.

The ship then transitions to the tropics with calls in St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Kitts, Montserrat, and Port-of-Spain, before reaching Brazil and Argentina.

The Antarctic portion includes optional submarine dives, Zodiac excursions, and kayaking – with the bonus of a Polar Plunge and a luxury twist: the “Caviar on Ice” experience.

In South Georgia, guests will witness the world’s largest king penguin colony, home to more than 450,000 birds, while Falkland Islands landings provide further opportunities for wildlife viewing.

Aboard Seabourn Venture: Luxury Meets Exploration

At just 23,000 gross tons, Seabourn Venture is purpose-built for polar exploration but offers the level of luxury Seabourn is renowned for. The 264-passenger ship features:

  • Two custom submarines
  • A full complement of Zodiacs and kayaks
  • 30,000 square feet of open deck space
  • Complimentary fine dining and beverages
  • Swarovski binoculars in every suite
  • Science briefings and fireside expedition chats

There are 33 sea days built into the itinerary, allowing guests time to relax and enjoy the ship between high-adventure segments.

Alternate Itinerary & Booking Details

For those seeking a (slightly) shorter but equally rich experience, Seabourn is offering an 82-day version of the cruise, beginning 29th August 2027, which follows the same itinerary from the tropical crossover southward, through the Falklands, South Georgia, and Antarctica.

Both itineraries include a premium suite package, with benefits such as:

  • Up to $10,000 USD shipboard credit
  • Starlink WiFi
  • Business-class round-trip air
  • Unlimited laundry
