The brand new cruise ship Disney Treasure has already been called into action to rescue stranded people at sea, even before her first official sailing for the cruise line!

The ship successfully conducted a rescue operation on 10th November 2024, saving four individuals from a sinking catamaran named Serenity.
The incident took place approximately 230 miles off the coast of Bermuda when the catamaran began taking on water due to a gasket failure in the escape hatch.
After receiving a distress call, the US Coast Guard coordinated with nearby vessels to provide immediate assistance.
Disney Treasure, positioned about 70 nautical miles from the scene, responded swiftly. The crew deployed an onboard lifeboat and successfully rescued all four individuals without injury.
“We are pleased that the Disney Treasure was able to provide aid to the boat passengers in peril,
“Our crew members worked together on the rescue, skillfully demonstrating their training and commitment to safety,”
Disney Treasure Captain Marco Nogara
Following the rescue, the Disney Treasure’s crew provided medical attention and essential supplies to the rescued individuals, whose identities haven’t been revealed.
The ship then continued its transatlantic crossing to Port Canaveral, Florida, where it was expected to arrive on 12th November 2024, just over a month before her inaugural sailing.
The next few weeks are the final stages of preparation for the cruise ship before she welcomes her first guests – or at least, after this incident, her first paying guests!
Features onboard will now undergo final testing as the last few crew members also arrive to begin their contracts. Several crew members will have already spent time on the ship for her transatlantic crossing as they are trained on the onboard features.
Disney Treasure will set sail for her debut cruise on 21st December 2024.
