Classic FM, the UK’s most popular radio station for classical music, has started a new four-part series where beloved comedian and presenter Sue Perkins will take a musical journey to the South Pole in collaboration with expedition cruise company HX.

Race to Antarctica with HX – Hurtigruten Expeditions is a four-part series that debuted on Friday 20th September and will continue each Friday night until its conclusion.
In the series, Sue will go on a “musical expedition” from the UK to Antarctica, discovering cities and their classical music connections en route.
Listeners will be able to travel with Sue as she explores the musical links in destinations across the British Isles, Europe, Greenland, the Northwest Passage, Alaska, the US, South America and ultimately Antarctica.
“I am thrilled to be part of the Classic FM family and embark on this new series which perfectly combines two of my great passions – classical music and travel. I look forward to joining with Classic FM’s well-travelled audience as we embark on this musical voyage together.”
Sue Perkins
Many of the destinations that the series will cover can be visited by listeners should they book a cruise with HX.
The series can be enjoyed via the Global Player.
