A Florida-based cruise operator has suspended operations indefinitely and cancelled all remaining sailings for 2026 after extensive repairs left its only vessel unable to return to regular service.

Victory Casino Cruises

Victory Casino Cruises, which has operated gambling cruises from Port Canaveral since 2011, has also furloughed its entire workforce as uncertainty continues over the future of the business.

The company had initially hoped to resume operations following maintenance work on its vessel, Victory I, but additional repairs have forced an extended shutdown.

All remaining departures scheduled for 2026 have now been cancelled, and the operator is no longer accepting new reservations.

The suspension brings an unexpected halt to a business that has spent approximately 15 years offering short casino cruises from Florida’s east coast.

Ship Repairs Force Extended Shutdown

The disruption centres on Victory I, the company’s sole operating vessel, which has experienced an extended period out of service.

The ship underwent dry-dock work during the summer of 2026 before briefly returning to operations towards the end of September.

However, its return proved short-lived, with the vessel reportedly completing its final sailing on 28th September 2026 before being withdrawn from service again.

The company subsequently confirmed that further maintenance requirements meant it could not resume its advertised sailing schedule.

In a statement published on Facebook, Captain Tim Levensaler explained why the anticipated return had been delayed.

“While we had hoped to resume sailing sooner, additional necessary work has extended our time out of service,” he said.

Victory Casino Cruises has not disclosed the precise nature of the outstanding repairs or identified the shipyard responsible for carrying out the work.

Dry docking is an essential part of vessel maintenance, allowing shipyards to inspect and repair components that are normally submerged, including sections of the hull and underwater equipment.

Depending on the condition of a vessel and the work required, such maintenance can involve significant periods out of service.

In Victory I’s case, the additional work has resulted in the cancellation of the company’s entire remaining 2026 programme rather than a temporary adjustment to individual departure dates.

No revised date has been announced for the vessel to return to operations.

The financial and operational consequences have also extended beyond cancelled cruises, with the operator furloughing its workforce.

Pete Lynch, who said he had worked in bookings and events for Victory Casino Cruises for 15 years, confirmed publicly that he was among the employees affected.

“Last week, due to the extension of the ship’s dry dock, Victory was forced to furlough all of its employees, myself included,” Lynch wrote in a Facebook post.

He also expressed hope that the business could eventually resume operations, “possibly even with a new ship.”

However, there has been no confirmed announcement of a replacement vessel or a timetable for restarting services.

Casino hosts and reservations staff are among those reportedly affected by the suspension, leaving the company without its normal customer-facing operations.

What The Shutdown Means For Passengers

Victory Casino Cruises operated a different type of service from traditional ocean-going cruise lines, concentrating on short gambling excursions rather than multi-day holidays.

Based at Port Canaveral, the company typically offered two departures a day, operating from Tuesday through Sunday.

Each cruise lasted approximately five hours, allowing passengers to spend time gambling at sea before returning to the Florida coast.

Victory I featured more than 600 slot machines alongside a selection of table games, providing a casino-focused experience for passengers travelling from the Space Coast.

The format allowed customers to book a short excursion without committing to an overnight voyage or a longer cruise itinerary.

With the ship now out of service indefinitely, passengers holding reservations for the remainder of 2026 will no longer be able to travel as planned.

Victory Casino Cruises has said customers affected by the cancellations will receive refunds, including those who have already paid deposits towards upcoming departures.

Payments are expected to be returned through the original payment method used when making the booking.

However, the company has not provided a specific timeframe for processing the refunds, leaving affected passengers uncertain about when their money will be returned.

There is also uncertainty surrounding unused customer benefits.

Casino loyalty points and prepaid dining credits will not be transferred to future sailings, meaning passengers holding these benefits could lose their remaining value.

The situation is particularly significant for regular customers who had accumulated casino rewards or purchased additional onboard services before the shutdown.

Although the company has suspended its operations, it has not formally announced that it is permanently closing.

The distinction leaves open the possibility of a return, although any resumption would depend on the operator being able to restore a vessel to service and restart its operations.

For now, Victory Casino Cruises has directed customers to monitor its official website and Facebook page for further announcements.

With all remaining 2026 departures cancelled, no new bookings being accepted and its workforce furloughed, the company’s future remains uncertain.

Whether Victory I will eventually return to Port Canaveral or the operator will pursue an alternative vessel has yet to be confirmed.
