Princess Cruises has some big plans for 2027, with new itineraries, record-breaking seasons and a few unusual sailings that really stand out.
The cruise line is planning its biggest-ever Japan programme and another record-breaking Alaska season, while Celebration Key will start appearing on more Caribbean itineraries. There are also two sailings timed around a solar eclipse and an epic 129-night voyage around the Pacific.
So if you’re thinking about sailing with Princess in 2027, there are quite a few changes worth knowing about.
1. Princess Is Doubling Its Japan Fleet
Japan is going to be a much bigger focus for Princess Cruises in 2027, with the cruise line planning its largest Japan programme to date.
Diamond Princess and Sapphire Princess will both sail in the region, with 50 different itineraries visiting 45 destinations across six countries.
There’s plenty of variety too, with cruises timed around some of Japan’s most popular seasons and cultural events. Depending on the sailing, guests will be able to visit destinations across Japan as well as other parts of Asia without having to arrange a complicated multi-stop land trip.
For anyone who has Japan on their cruise wishlist, the addition of a second ship means there will be considerably more choice in 2027.
2. Princess Is Having Its Biggest Alaska Season Ever
Princess is going even bigger in Alaska in 2027, with what the cruise line describes as its most expansive season in the region yet.
Eight ships will offer 187 departures across 17 different itineraries, sailing from Seattle, Vancouver, Anchorage (Whittier), San Francisco and Los Angeles. Cruises will visit ports including Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Sitka and Icy Strait Point, with scenic cruising at Glacier Bay National Park, Hubbard Glacier, College Fjord and Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier.
Star Princess, the cruise line’s newest ship, will return for her second Alaska season in 2027, sailing seven-night Inside Passage cruises roundtrip from Seattle. Royal Princess will also offer seven-night cruises from Seattle, while other ships will sail from Vancouver, San Francisco and even Los Angeles.
There are also 28 cruisetour itineraries combining a cruise with time on land. These can include stays at Princess wilderness lodges and visits to Denali National Park, making them a good option if you want to explore more of Alaska beyond the ports.
So while 2026 was already a record-breaking year for Princess in Alaska, 2027 is set to be even bigger, with 187 departures compared with 180 in 2026.
3. Celebration Key Is Joining Princess Itineraries
One change passengers will notice on Princess Caribbean cruises in 2027 is the addition of Celebration Key, although the cruise line’s first visits actually begin in November 2026.
The destination on Grand Bahama Island opened in 2025, with Star Princess scheduled to make Princess’s first call on 1st November 2026. Regal Princess will follow later that month, with several more Princess ships scheduled to visit during 2027.
There’s plenty to do once you get there, with white-sand beaches, huge freshwater lagoons, cabanas and more than 30 places to eat and drink. There’s also the adults-only Pearl Cove Beach Club, with its own infinity pool and private beach.
Celebration Key will become a much more familiar sight for Princess cruisers in 2027, appearing on a range of Caribbean itineraries alongside the cruise line’s existing private destination, Princess Cays.
4. Princess Is Sailing An Epic 129-Night Pacific Voyage
If you have four months to spare, Princess Cruises has a particularly ambitious itinerary planned for 2027.
Coral Princess will set sail from Fort Lauderdale on 6th January 2027 on a 129-night World Cruise Grand Circle Pacific voyage. It will cover more than 35,000 nautical miles, visiting 61 destinations across 20 countries and three continents. Princess says it’s the most destination-packed itinerary it has ever offered.
The route takes passengers through the Panama Canal before continuing to Hawaii, the South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Japan and Alaska. There are also nine late-night or overnight calls, including an overnight stay in Hong Kong.
You don’t necessarily need to commit to the full 129 nights either. There’s a 114-night roundtrip option from Los Angeles and a 110-night voyage from Los Angeles to Vancouver, along with shorter segments covering individual regions.
It’s certainly not going to suit everyone, but for anyone dreaming of a seriously long cruise, this is one of the standout Princess itineraries for 2027.
5. Princess Is Offering Two Solar Eclipse Cruises
Princess is giving passengers another chance to experience a total solar eclipse at sea in 2027, and this time there will be two ships positioned for the event.
On 2nd August 2027, Enchanted Princess and Sky Princess will both be positioned to experience the eclipse. Enchanted Princess will sail a 14-night cruise roundtrip from Rome, while Sky Princess will offer a 14-night voyage roundtrip from Southampton, with both cruises departing on 24th July.
Princess is planning special eclipse-themed activities onboard too, making these two cruises particularly unusual options if you’re looking for something different in 2027.
They’re part of a wider European programme featuring more than 200 sailings to 108 destinations across 31 countries.

They’re still a long way off, but one of Princess Cruises’ biggest announcements in 2026 was the order for three ships in a brand-new Voyager Class.
The first is due to arrive in late 2035, followed by two more in 2038 and 2039. At around 183,000 gross tonnes and carrying approximately 4,700 guests, they’ll be the largest Princess ships yet by passenger capacity.
The ships will build on the design of Sun Princess and Star Princess, with reimagined outdoor decks, staterooms and Piazza spaces promised, along with new dining, entertainment and pool experiences. They’ll also be powered primarily by liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Princess hasn’t revealed any further details about the ships yet, including their names, so there’s still a lot more to come before the first Voyager Class ship arrives.
Final Thoughts
There’s plenty happening at Princess Cruises in 2027, from its biggest Japan season yet to another record-breaking year in Alaska.
Celebration Key will become a more familiar stop on Caribbean itineraries, while the 129-night Grand Circle Pacific voyage and two solar eclipse cruises offer something a little more unusual.
